Stories and highlights
Holroyd School is filled with learning, laughter, and memorable moments.
Here are some highlights that capture the spirit of our students, staff and community in action.
Holroyd School students had the incredible opportunity to meet His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla, during their 2024 royal tour to Sydney.
Our students were among the 500 guests at a community picnic lunch at Parramatta Park, which was hosted by NSW Premier Chris Minns and attended by the King and Queen, community leaders and inspiring Australians.
Students and staff embraced the theme Ignite your strengths, one page at a time this Book Week through a range of exciting activities.
To start the week, every class created a poster showcasing their favourite book. These colourful posters transformed the hall into a vibrant gallery of reading inspiration.
One of the highlights was the Junior and Middle School book character parade. A special thank you to the many parents and carers who joined us for the occasion. We were also thrilled to welcome some surprise guests - Bluey, Bingo and R2D2 - who popped in for a visit, thanks to the generous support of Kidz Fix.
The celebrations wrapped up with a school-wide treasure hunt. Students followed clues hidden around the school, which ultimately led to the library. There, each adventurer discovered a prize waiting in the pirate's chest - a special 'treasure' to take home.
Holroyd School was filled with music, energy and celebration on Thursday, 18 September, as families, friends and staff came together for our annual Educational Showcase.
Across two uplifting concerts, students took to the stage to deliver 19 vibrant musical performances. From Spread a Little Sunshine to Walking on Sunshine and Better When I'm Dancing, each song was chosen to inspire happiness - and our students certainly delivered.
They brought so much energy, talent and joy to the stage, performing with confidence and enthusiasm. It was a wonderful celebration of their creativity and spirit, and the result of weeks of hard work, dedication and teamwork.
Senior students had an unforgettable time at the Bubble Planet Experience at Sydney Olympic Park.
From the moment they arrived, students were immersed in a vibrant world filled with colour, movement, and sensory wonder. The interactive spaces were a huge hit, but the clear favourites were the pink balloon room and the giant ball pit.
It was an adventure that brought fun, excitement, and sensory engagement to life!
Holroyd School celebrated Australia's rich cultural diversity in Term 1, embracing the values of unity and kindness.
In the spirit of this year's Harmony Day theme, 'everyone belongs', every class contributed to a major Harmony Day art project.
Now in its 26th year, Harmony Day was established to celebrate Australia's rich cultural tapestry and promote respect for everyone who calls Australia home.
Our weekly music program, delivered by Rhythm Village, has provided our students with new opportunities to explore sound, rhythm, and self-expression through music.
This all-accessible sensory program is a learning tool calling on students' sense of sight, touch and hearing - making music an inclusive and powerful learning tool for all.
We're already seeing the many important benefits the program is bringing to our participating students, from improved focus and coordination to increased confidence and joy.
