Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. Our strategic focus is to create and maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive school environment where every student feels connected and ready to learn.
Through targeted support and whole-school approaches, we aim to enhance the mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing of all students. By addressing individual needs and promoting resilience and belonging, we empower students to thrive both within the school setting and beyond.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting every student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is embedded in our everyday school practice and culture. Our commitment to a whole-school approach to health and wellbeing ensures students are known, supported and equipped to thrive academically and personally.
We achieve this through:
- Inclusive classroom practices where teachers foster a sense of belonging, safety and respect.
- Access to multidisciplinary wellbeing staff, including the school psychologist, and other specialist professionals.
- Proactive programs that promote health, social-emotional learning, regular attendance and positive behaviour.
- Structured transition support for students who are new to the school or moving between year levels.
- Clear and consistent expectations around behaviour and respectful relationships.
- Strong partnerships with families, with staff actively working to understand and support every child's individual needs.
- Individualised health and wellbeing support, including development of health care plans and student support plans when required.
- Open communication channels between students, staff and families to promote timely and transparent support.
